Old Skool B-Girl from the 80's

We first heard about Violeta from Rockafella who wrote the introduction to our book. We especially wanted to meet her because she was an Old Skool B-Girl from the 80's, an era with very few B-Girls. She had managed to create a good career from dance--not an easy thing to accomplish. After meeting Violeta, we were charmed by her dynamic personality and the way that she was able to pull together a professional dance performance from non-professional youths on a very low budget. We thought she represented the ideal of someone who loved what she did and was passing her skills along to the next generation. Her little head-spinning son was also a plus.
