Dancing began for me back home on the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico
at age 15. I started dance training in Salsa, Merengue and Puerto Rico's
native heritage dance, “Plena” and “Bomba” in
a fine arts training academy (Centro y Adiestramiento de Bellas Artes)
where I became a member of the "Ballet Isleño de Puerto Rico.”
From there I graduated with top honors as the senior featured dance artist.
As a young, culturally inspired member of the “Ballet Isleño
de Puerto Rico,” I was able to perform all over the island in various
activities and theatres including the well-known “Bellas Artes”
and “Yaguez” theaters. After a year I joined another company
("Compania de Danza y Teatro Hostos”) where I added some extra
flavor to my dance style with hip-hop and funk.
The next chapter of my journey began when I moved to the United Sates
to attend East Stroudsburg University where I became a member of the University
Dance Company. There I majored in Hotel, Rest. and Tourism Management.
While being a part of UDC I was fortunate to be part of an experience
that would change my life forever by participating in productions based
on Broadway Reviews such as, The Lion King, Newsies, and Hairspray. In
my spare time from school, I attended NY's infamous Broadway Dance Center
"BDC" and began training in jazz, theatre and lyrical dance
technique with a master craftsman by the name of Richard Pierlon.
Performance and Dance has been my passion, the force that drives me, the
focus, the determination and the fire needed to dominate the stage, capture
the audience and ultimately shine from within.
"Success is a journey, not a destination!"
